Honua Kai - Konea 322

My daughter and I stayed here for her birthday and it was perfect! Had everything we needed and more. Excellent location, access to the beach wa amazing! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back

Great time on Maui!

This condo was perfect for our family's needs. The bathroom is a little on the small side but it is a beautiful unit. I would highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay! The condo was in a perfect location on a beautiful beach with tons of pools. The condo was well furnished and a lot of thought had gone into supplying it with all of the comforts of home. We loved having the towel service for the beach and felt like it prevented sand from ‘following’ us back. We brought way too many clothes not realizing there was a washer and dryer in the unit. Can’t really think of one single thing we would change except for lack of restaurants within walking distance. There is only one on site.

Just as described and Jill is great. Wish the bathtub worked though.

The rental was clean and well stocked with essentials. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again in a few years after west Maui rebuilds from the fires. The only problem I saw with the rental was the pullout couch was kind of falling apart but it was still usable.

Beautiful, clean condo. Full kitchen was a huge plus. Very well kept. Location is perfect- lots of places to eat in walking distance. Beach is beautiful and a walkway takes you all the way to Whaler Village. Pools are very nice and spread out so never felt crowded. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for our 8 day honeymoon in Maui. We were there for Christmas week and enjoyed the busy vibes by the pool. We love having beach chairs, beach towels, a cooler, and umbrella for our stay! This resort also has pool towels available with the wrist bands that come with the condo. I loved the view and how quiet it was from our lanai. Really would recommend this place. Big money saver compared to the expensive resorts, and you get more room!

We loved staying in this Honua Kai unit which was perfect for our little family. When one of us was cold at nights Hula Hideaway immediately brough a nice cozy blanket for the pullout couch. We appreciated all the items that were included in this unit like laundry and dishwasher detergent, although a little more toilet paper would be a good thing. The property was clean and well maitained and the property description was accurate. I would recommend this to a friend and we love staying at the Honua Kai because it is very family friendly with lots of pools. It is frustrating that sometimes you cannot find a parking spot but it is nice to have the valet available at a very reasonable rate. The one thing that I would like the management company to know is that there were cockroaches in some of the cutlery and kitchen drawers.

Great communication, great place, close to the beach and within 10 minutes of other great adventures

Tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Nice table and one lounge chair on the lanai facing the sunrise side and overlooking far off Mountain View and a slice of valet parking area at the entrance. We did not use the sofa bed in living room. It definitely would not be convenient to have the entire living room used up for sleeping. The bathroom is separate from the bedroom - One sink and a tub/shower combo. Nice to have woven baskets in both the bathroom and bedroom for laundry use. Also bathroom was adjacent to a spacious closet containing beach chairs, cooler, and boogie boards across from the laundry closet holding new Bosch stackable washer and ventless dryer.
Didn’t care for the dryer - it required extensive cleaning of inside lint remover as well as drying/cleaning of the compressor and filter below the drum and often halfway through drying cycle. One item we used during stay was a hanging rack we placed in living room to help finish drying clothes from dryer since they often felt damp still at end of cycle. One had to keep wash loads very small. The kitchen had many plates and glasses/mugs for use. Could have used a couple more pots and pans. Nice that they provided plastic wrap, foil, paper towels, and sandwich bags. But there weren’t any other cooking kitchen supplies. Would have liked at least a salt and pepper shaker. The resort itself is amazing. Our daughters and grandsons were in a different condo. They all thought the resort was terrific. Beautiful landscaping, pools, hot tubs, and great snorkeling nearby. One grandson said it was the best vacation he’s ever had. (Except for the Road to Hana day - but that’s a different review - not many fans of it).
Overall would recommend this condo but think hard if you have children using the sofa bed. The space is best for 2 people.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Honua Kai and booking through HulaHideaway. The resort was beautiful, location perfect and the unit very nice. Only slight negative is the lanai was near the main entrance valet area of the Konea tower. Not a huge deal, but more of an FYI if you’re out later in the evening there can be a lot of cars and honking, etc. Still a fabulous experience and would definitely stay here again.

My Fiance and I rented this location for us on our wedding trip to Maui. I have nothing but great things to say about our vacation and our incredible rental. I was so impressed with the additional equipment provided! I would have loved to know these things were provided so I could leave my own things at home like shampoo and other amazing necessities.

We had such a great time in Maui! Our condo was so great. Had everything we needed, was clean and cozy. The balcony is so nice already Miss sitting out there enjoying my morning coffee. We will definitely be returning.

Positives: Our room was perfect! The space was clean, well prepared with everything we needed for our stay and more. We utilized kitchen amenities, laundry, and the spacious balcony. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was well stocked upon arrival.

Negatives: Children everywhere! We are a couple in our early 30’s and did not expect to be seemingly the only people without a child in the entire resort. Whether we were at on-site restaurants (which were underwhelming), or attempting to relax by the pool, we were consistently interrupted by crying or screaming children. Even when swimming we had a hard time avoiding being run into by endless kids racing from one end to the other. I understand kids will be kids and this may not be a downside to some, but do be warned that if you, like us, are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation spot this may not be it.

Our only other negative was the pool area. The beach was incredibly nice and close to the buildings, however the pool was very small and walking areas were tight. There were many occasions we had to wait for areas to clear out in order for us to be able to go into the pool without feeling surrounded. We were disappointed by the size of the hot tub as well. The one time we were able to enjoy the hot tub alone was past 10pm and we noticed large bugs scurrying on surrounding rocks. There was another cockroach in the trash area in our building.

Overall our living space was ideal and everything the listing said it was. The resort itself was as described and stuff was relatively friendly. We just wish we could’ve enjoyed shared spaces more given the location and money spent.

This was our first trip to Hawaii and I was so excited to find this beautiful property to stay at for our first stay! The property was as described and in wonderful condition! Checkin was a breeze and there was always plenty of parking! Property was close to everything you would need. The condo was just what we needed and we cannot wait to return!!

We’ve stayed at Honua Kai a number of times and k322 stands out as one of the best units! Love the convenience of the washer dryer in room and the full kitchen. The unit is clean, well-appointed and very comfortable. We will definitely be back.

This unit was extremely clean and has a great location close to the beach and in a beautiful resort. We absolutely loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. The unit was very spacious and comfortable, has everything you would need for a great week in Maui!

I was very happy with our choice. The location was central tha home was clean and the building had several amenities. Will be staying there again!

This place is beautiful, the room was great. Would have been nice to get a heads up about the construction of the villa outside! That was pretty disappointing as we couldn't spend much enjoyable time in the room. Other than that the room was very nice.
The resort is simply amazing!!! Wasn't very busy, in the evening we had the pool to ourselves more than once.
Dukes is ok, very expensive. There are food trucks setup near the entrance to the resort that were just delicious!!! The nacho grande restaurant across the road was very good as well.
The beach is very nice! Whales were breaching all over and quite close to shore.

We sat on the beach for a couple of sunsets and they were breathtaking to say the least. It was such a beautiful setting that I used it to propose to my now fiance!!!!!!

I rated the location 3 stars because our balcony view was noisy excavators and construction.

Overall aside from the construction we loved our stay and would absolutely come back!!

Unit 322 was a great place to stay. Everything we needed including basic kitchen supplies, toiletries in bathroom, sand toys and beach chairs. Some things helpful to know in advance would have been what was in the kitchen (Tupperware; ziplock bags), no pack n play sheet, big things of body wash/shampoo/conditioner as we would not have brought. There was only 1 huge soup pot to boil water in, which was frustrating for making tea or oatmeal but otherwise had everything we could need! The Hula Hideaway app was very easy to use and Jill was extremely responsive!

We had a great time at this condo and resort! The amenities were awesome and the condo itself was very clean and the bed was comfy. Loved the options of pools and how close to the beach it was. We also loved that there was a Dukes on the property for food and just a little over a mile drive was Whaler Village. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay here again.

The Honua Kai Resort is a really nice place for everyone. It has several amenities to serve the guest; large pool area, exercise room, Whalers Store, activities desk and Duke's Restaurant. The resort is in a convenient location with a short drive to Lahaina Waterfront and Whalers Village. There is a beach walk path that runs from the resort through Kaanapali Beach with easy access to the beach for water activities. I have stayed at the resort before and will come back again.

We stayed in konea 322. It was clean and well kept. When we required a rubber bath mat, we had one the next day . We felt we were well cared for by the staff. Most enjoyable and will probably be there again next summer

Because if Hula Hideaway, we had a terrific experience with our VRBO...

My wife and I stayed in Honua Kai (Konea 322) for 90 nights starting January 3, 2019. We had a wonderful time. Jill Marzo and the Hula Hideaway team were very helpful. We would be staying in the same condo next year, but we were too late to book it. Fortunately, Jill found another condo in the Konea Building for us!

Property was exceptional! I had everything I needed, the property was clean and well maintained, the property manager and staff were very helpful and accommodating. Duke's beach restaurant is the best! I would definitely stay here again.

We had a great vacation at Honua Kai! Jill was so easy to work with, highly responsive and made the reservation process simple. The unit is nicely decorated and has newer carpet and paint. We would stay in this unit again!

My family of 4 enjoyed this rental very much. The beds were very comfortable and everything was provided. We enjoyed using the pool toys for the many pools the resort offers, and cooked almost every meal in the beautiful kitchen. Reservations were easy, and they even went above and beyond and sent me a few items I forgot when leaving. I will say the view is of the construction going on, but everything inside the unit was wonderful. We hope to return again soon.

Thank you for a great vacation. Beautiful facilities. Kids loved the bracelets for the ease of going back and forth to the pool. The bed was more comfortable than mine at home. We had an excellent time and wished we could have stayed longer. There is so much to do in Maui!
